2 And Joash3101 did6213 that which was right3477 in the sight5869 of the LORD3068 all3605 the days3117 of Jehoiada3111 the priest.3548

3 Und Jojada3077 gab5375 ihm zwei8147 Weiber802, und er zeugete Söhne1121 und Töchter1323.

3 And Jehoiada3111 took5375 for him two8147 wives;802 and he begat3205 sons1121 and daughters.1323

4 Danach nahm Joas3101 vor, das Haus1004 des HErrn3068 zu erneuern2318.

4 And it came1961 to pass after310 this,3651 that Joash3101 was minded5973 3820 to repair2318 the house1004 of the LORD.3068

5 Und3548 versammelte6908 die Priester und Leviten3881 und sprach559 zu ihnen: Ziehet aus3318 zu allen Städten5892 Judas und sammelt6908 Geld3701 aus dem ganzen Israel3478, das1697 Haus1004 eures Gottes430 zu bessern2388 jährlich8141; und eilet4116, solches zu tun! Aber die Leviten3881 eileten nicht.

5 And he gathered6908 together the priests3548 and the Levites,3881 and said559 to them, Go3318 out to the cities5892 of Judah,3063 and gather6908 of all3605 Israel3478 money3701 to repair2388 the house1004 of your God430 from year8141 to year,8141 and see that you hasten4116 the matter.1697 However, the Levites3881 hastened4116 it not.

6 Da rief7121 der König4428 Jojada3077, dem Vornehmsten7218, und sprach559 zu ihm: Warum hast du nicht acht auf die Leviten3881, daß sie6951 einbringen von Juda3063 und Jerusalem3389 die Steuer4864, die Mose4872, der Knecht5650 des HErrn3068, gesetzt hat1875, die man sammelte unter935 Israel3478 zu der Hütte168 des Stifts5715?

6 And the king4428 called7121 for Jehoiada3111 the chief,7218 and said559 to him, Why4069 have you not required1875 of the Levites3881 to bring935 in out of Judah3063 and out of Jerusalem3389 the collection,4864 according to the commandment of Moses4872 the servant5650 of the LORD,3068 and of the congregation6951 of Israel,3478 for the tabernacle168 of witness?5715

8 Da befahl der König4428, daß man559 ein259 Lade727 machte6213 und setzte5414 sie außen2351 ins To am Hause1004 des HErrn3068.

8 And at the king's4428 commandment559 they made6213 a chest,727 and set5414 it without2351 at the gate8179 of the house1004 of the LORD.3068

9 Und935 ließ5414 ausrufen6963 in Juda3063 und zu Jerusalem3389, daß man dem HErrn3068 einbringen sollte die Steuer4864 von Mose4872, dem Knechte5650 Gottes430, auf Israel3478 gelegt in der Wüste4057.

9 And they made5414 a proclamation6963 through Judah3063 and Jerusalem,3389 to bring935 in to the LORD3068 the collection4864 that Moses4872 the servant5650 of God430 laid on Israel3478 in the wilderness.4057

10 Da freueten sich8055 alle Obersten8269 und alles Volk5971 und brachten935 es und warfen7993 es in die Lade727, bis sie voll ward3615.

10 And all3605 the princes8269 and all3605 the people5971 rejoiced,8055 and brought935 in, and cast7993 into the chest,727 until5704 they had made an end.3615

11 Und3548 wenn3117‘s Zeit6256 war6496, daß man die Lade727 herbringen sollte durch935 die Leviten3881 nach des Königs4428 Befehl6486 (wenn sie sahen7200 daß viel7230 Geld3701 drinnen war), so kam935 der Schreiber5608 des Königs4428, und wer vom vornehmsten7218 Priester Befehl hatte6213, und schütteten die Lade727 aus und trugen5375 sie wieder7725 hin an3027 ihren Ort4725. So taten7725 sie alle Tage3117, daß sie Geldes3701 die Menge7227 zuhauf622 brachten.

11 Now it came1961 to pass, that at what time6256 the chest727 was brought935 to the king's4428 office6486 by the hand3027 of the Levites,3881 and when they saw7200 that there was much7227 money,3701 the king's4428 scribe5608 and the high7218 priest's3548 officer6496 came935 and emptied6168 the chest,727 and took5375 it, and carried7725 it to his place4725 again.7725 Thus3541 they did6213 day3117 by day,3117 and gathered622 money3701 in abundance.7230

12 And the king4428 and Jehoiada3111 gave5414 it to such as did6213 the work4399 of the service5656 of the house1004 of the LORD,3068 and hired7936 masons2672 and carpenters2796 to repair2318 the house1004 of the LORD,3068 and also1571 such as worked2790 iron1270 and brass5178 to mend2388 the house1004 of the LORD.3068

13 Und6213 die724 Arbeiter arbeiteten, daß die Besserung im Werk zunahm5927 durch ihre Hand3027; und machten5975 das Haus1004 Gottes430 ganz fertig4971 und wohl zugerichtet6213; und machten es fest.

13 So the workmen6213 4399 worked,6213 and the work4399 was perfected5927 724 by them, and they set5975 the house1004 of God430 in his state,4971 and strengthened553 it.

14 Und da sie es5930 vollendet3615 hatten5927, brachten935 sie das übrige7605 Geld3701 vor6440 den König4428 und Jojada3077; davon3701 machte6213 man Gefäße3627 zum Hause1004 des HErrn3068, Gefäße3627 zum Dienst8335 und zu Brandopfern, Löffel3709 und güldene und silberne Geräte3627. Und sie opferten5927 Brandopfer, bei dem Hause1004 des HErrn3068 allewege8548, solange Jojada3077 lebte3117.

14 And when they had finished3615 it, they brought935 the rest7605 of the money3701 before6440 the king4428 and Jehoiada,3111 whereof were made6213 vessels3627 for the house1004 of the LORD,3068 even vessels3627 to minister,8335 and to offer5927 with, and spoons,3709 and vessels3627 of gold2091 and silver.3701 And they offered5927 burnt5930 offerings in the house1004 of the LORD3068 continually8548 all3605 the days3117 of Jehoiada.3111

15 Und Jojada3077 ward3117 alt2204 und des Lebens satt7646 und starb4191; und war hundertunddreißig3967 Jahre8141 alt1121, da er starb4194.

15 But Jehoiada3111 waxed old,2204 and was full7646 of days3117 when he died;4191 an hundred3967 and thirty7970 years8141 old1121 was he when he died.4194

16 Und sie begruben6912 ihn2896 in der Stadt5892 Davids1732 unter die Könige4428, darum daß er hatte6213 wohlgetan an Israel3478 und an GOtt430 und seinem Hause1004.

16 And they buried6912 him in the city5892 of David1732 among5973 the kings,4428 because3588 he had done6213 good2896 in Israel,3478 both toward5973 God,430 and toward his house.1004

17 Und nach310 dem Tode4194 Jojadas3077 kamen935 die Obersten8269 in Juda3063 und beteten den König4428 an7812; da gehorchte8085 ihnen der König4428.

17 Now after310 the death4194 of Jehoiada3111 came935 the princes8269 of Judah,3063 and made obeisance7812 to the king.4428 Then the king4428 listened8085 to them.

18 Und5647 sie5800 verließen das Haus1004 des HErrn3068, des Gottes430 ihrer Väter1, und dieneten den Hainen und Götzen6091. Da kam der Zorn7110 über Juda3063 und Jerusalem3389 um dieser ihrer Schuld819 willen.

18 And they left5800 the house1004 of the LORD3068 God430 of their fathers,1 and served5647 groves842 and idols:6091 and wrath7110 came1961 on Judah3063 and Jerusalem3389 for this2063 their trespass.819

19 Er sandte7971 aber Propheten5030 zu ihnen, daß sie sich7725 zu dem HErrn3068 bekehren sollten; und5749 die bezeugten sie; aber sie nahmen es nicht238 zu Ohren.

19 Yet he sent7971 prophets5030 to them, to bring7725 them again7725 to the LORD;3068 and they testified5749 against them: but they would not give ear.238

20 Und der Geist7307 Gottes430 zog3847 an Sacharja2148, den Sohn1121 Jojadas3077, des Priesters3548. Der trat5975 oben über5674 das Volk5971 und sprach559 zu ihnen: So spricht559 GOtt430: Warum übertretet ihr die Gebote4687 des HErrn3068, das euch nicht gelingen6743 wird? Denn ihr habt den HErrn3068 verlassen5800, so wird er euch wieder verlassen5800.

20 And the Spirit7307 of God430 came3847 on Zechariah2148 the son1121 of Jehoiada3111 the priest,3548 which stood5975 above5921 the people,5971 and said559 to them, Thus3541 said559 God,430 Why4100 transgress5674 you the commandments4687 of the LORD,3068 that you cannot3808 prosper?6743 because3588 you have forsaken5800 the LORD,3068 he has also forsaken5800 you.

21 Aber sie machten einen Bund7194 wider ihn und68 steinigten7275 ihn nach dem Gebot4687 des Königs4428 im Hofe2691 am Hause1004 des HErrn3068.

21 And they conspired7194 against5921 him, and stoned7275 him with stones68 at the commandment4687 of the king4428 in the court2691 of the house1004 of the LORD.3068

22 Und der König4428 Joas3101 gedachte2142 nicht an7200 die Barmherzigkeit2617, die Jojada3077 sein Vater1, an ihm getan hatte6213, sondern erwürgete seinen Sohn1121. Da er aber starb4194, sprach559 er: Der HErr3068 wird‘s sehen und suchen1875.

22 Thus Joash3101 the king4428 remembered2142 not the kindness2617 which834 Jehoiada3111 his father25 had done6213 to him, but slew2026 his son.1121 And when he died,4191 he said,559 The LORD3068 look7200 on it, and require1875 it.

23 Und7843 da das Jahr8141 um war8622, zog5927 herauf das Heer2428 der Syrer758, und kamen935 nach Juda3063 und Jerusalem3389 und verderbeten alle Obersten8269 im Volk5971; und allen ihren Raub7998 sandten7971 sie5971 dem Könige4428 zu Damaskus1834.

23 And it came1961 to pass at the end8622 of the year,8141 that the host2428 of Syria758 came5927 up against5921 him: and they came935 to Judah3063 and Jerusalem,3389 and destroyed7843 all3605 the princes8269 of the people5971 from among the people,5971 and sent7971 all3605 the spoil7998 of them to the king4428 of Damascus.1834

24 Denn der Syrer758 Macht2428 kam935 mit wenig4705 Männern582, noch gab5414 der HErr3068 in ihre Hand3027 eine sehr3966 große7230 Macht2428, darum daß sie den HErrn3068, ihrer Väter1 GOtt430, verlassen5800 hatten6213. Auch übten sie an Joas3101 Strafe8201.

24 For the army2428 of the Syrians758 came935 with a small4705 company1995 of men,582 and the LORD3068 delivered5414 a very3966 great7230 host2428 into their hand,3027 because3588 they had forsaken5800 the LORD3068 God430 of their fathers.1 So they executed6213 judgment8201 against Joash.3101

25 Und da sie5800 von ihm zogen3212, ließen sie2026 ihn6912 in großen7227 Krankheiten. Es machten aber seine Knechte5650 einen Bund7194 wider ihn um des Bluts1818 willen der Kinder1121 Jojadas3077, des Priesters3548, und erwürgeten ihn auf seinem Bette4296; und er starb4191. Und man begrub6912 ihn in der Stadt5892 Davids1732, aber nicht unter der Könige4428 Gräber6913.

25 And when they were departed3212 from him, (for they left5800 him in great7227 diseases,4251) his own servants5650 conspired7194 against5921 him for the blood1818 of the sons1121 of Jehoiada3111 the priest,3548 and slew2026 him on5921 his bed,4296 and he died:4191 and they buried6912 him in the city5892 of David,1732 but they buried6912 him not in the sepulchers6913 of the kings.4428

26 Die aber den Bund7194 wider ihn machten, waren diese: Sabad2066, der Sohn1121 Simeaths8100, der Ammonitin5985, und Josabad3075, der Sohn1121 Simriths8116, der Moabitin4125.

26 And these428 are they that conspired7194 against5921 him; Zabad2066 the son1121 of Shimeath8100 an Ammonitess,5984 and Jehozabad3075 the son1121 of Shimrith8116 a Moabitess.4125
